No Grate Gajar Halwa
What you'll need:- Carrots - 1 kg (Cut into 1 inch thin, elongated pieces)
- Milk - 2 cups
- Ghee - 1 to 2 tbsp
- Sugar - As per taste
- Cardamom Powder - ¼ tsp
- Milk Powder - 2 tbsp (Tip: If Milk Powder is not available, you have to use 3 cups of Milk. But Milk Powder will give your Gajar Halwa a creamy texture)
- Poppy Seeds (Khus Khus) - 1 to 2 tsp
For Garnishing - - Dry Fruits
- Melon Seeds - 1 tsp (Optional)
How to make?- Firstly, take a pressure cooker & add chopped Carrots & 1 cup Milk & let it cook till 2 whistles.
- Once the pressure is released, open the pressure cooker & mash the Carrot & Milk mixture with the help of a masher till it turns smooth.
- Now, heat a pan on a medium flame & add half of the Ghee in it, add mashed Carrot & Milk mixture & then add the remaining 1 cup of Milk into it. Let it cook for 5-10 minutes on medium-high flame or till the Carrots absorb the Milk.
- Now, add Sugar little by little & let it cook for another 3-5 minutes.
- Now, add Poppy Seeds & cook for another 3-4 minutes.
- Now, add Milk Powder & mix well (Milk Powder will help your Halwa to dry quickly).
- Then, add remaining Ghee, stir properly & turn off the flame.
- Then, garnish your Gajar Halwa with some Dry Fruits & Melon Seeds.
- Finally, your No Grate Gajar Halwa is ready to be served.
Tip: If you want, you can add Dry Fruits in the Halwa itself, after adding Sugar.
