No Oven, No Maida, Sugar-Free Eggless Chocolate Cake

This is a very healthy & absolutely delicious Cake & which is why I am posting this as a Christmas Special one. It is Eggless, Sugar-free & doesn't make use of All Purpose Flour (Maida). This Cake is perfect for any & every special occasion. You can now enjoy having Cake without feeling guilty cause this a best alternative to traditional Cakes which has a lot of Sugar & Maida in it.

What you'll need:

  1. Soft Dates - 10 (Deseed the Dates & let it soak in ½ cup Hot Milk for 30 minutes)
  2. Ripe Bananas - 2
  3. Oil (Any odourless cooking oil) - ½ cup 
  4. Vanilla Essence - ¼ tsp
  5. Wheat Flour - 1 cup
  6. Corn Flour - 1 tbsp
  7. Baking Powder - 1 tsp
  8. Baking Soda - ½ tsp
  9. Cocoa Powder - 1 cup
  10. Milk - ½ to 1 cup or as per requirement

 For Garnishing - 

  1. Walnuts
  2. Choco Chips
Tip: For Walnuts & Choco Chips to remain at the top of the batter, make sure to coat them with ½ tsp of Wheat Flour.

How to make?

  • Firstly, in a mixer jar, add Seedless Dates soaked in Hot Milk & grind it properly.
  • Now, add 2 Bananas & grind once again to form a smooth paste.
  • Now, take out this mixture in a bowl & add Oil & Vanilla Essence & mix well.
  • Now, add Wheat Flour, Baking Powder, Baking Soda, Corn Flour & Cocoa Powder & mix well using hand whisker.
  • Now, add Milk slowly till you get batter of thick consistency, a little thicker than normal cake batter.
  • Now, in a pan, place a wired rack, cover it with a lid & let it preheat for 10 minutes on low to medium flame (Tip: If you don't have a wired rack, you can keep an inverted steel bowl of 1 inch height) - Refer the picture below. 
  • Now, grease a rectangular mould with little Oil. (Tip: If you don't have a rectangular mould, you can use a square mould as I did by placing a foil in it to give a rectangular shape & use some other vessels to give it some support - Refer the picture below) 

  • Now, pour the Cake Batter into the greased mould & sprinkle Walnuts & Choco Chips at the top of the batter. 
  • Now, let it bake in a pre-heated pan on low to medium for 35-40 minutes.
  • After 35 minutes, insert a toothpick/knife into the Cake & if it comes out clean, your Cake has baked. If not, let it cook for another 5 minutes & check again if it has baked. Turn off the flame after your Cake has baked.
  • After you Cake has baked, let it cool for a while, unmould it & cut it into thin slices.
  • Finally, your Christmas Special Chocolate Cake is ready to be served.
