Poha Cigar Sticks
What you'll need: For Soft Dough - - Fine Powered Flattened Rice (Poha) - 1 cup
- Boiled Potatoes - 2
- Finely Chopped Green Chilly - 1
- Finely Chopped Garlic Pods - 2
- Finely Chopped Ginger - ½ tsp
- Maida/Besan/Corn Flour/Rice Flour - 4 tbsp (Use any 1 that is available with you)
- Chilly Flakes - ½ tsp
- Red Chilly Powder - ½ tsp
- Pepper Powder - ¼ tsp
- Oregano - ½ tsp (Tip: If you do not have Oregano, you can use either Pav Bhaji Masala or Maggi Masala or Peri Peri Seasoning)
- Coriander Leaves - 1 tbsp
- Salt - As per taste
- Oil for frying
For Slurry - - Maida - 2 tsp
- Corn Flour - 2 tsp
- Water - 4 tbsp
For Coating - - Bread Crumbs - 4 tbsp
- Kashmiri Red Chilly Powder - 1 tsp (For good colour)
For Garnishing -- Coriander Leaves
How to make?- Firstly, make a soft dough using all the above mentioned Soft Dough ingredients except Oil for frying.
- Now, make thin cylindrical sticks using the dough as shown in the picture.
- Now, prepare thin liquid slurry using Slurry ingredients mentioned above. Dip these sticks into the slurry.
- Now, make the coating using above mentioned Coating ingredients & coat all the sticks with this. (Tip: After doing all the above steps, you can store these sticks in an air-tight container in deep freezer for 15-20 days & you can fry it whenever you want on low to medium flame till golden brown)
- Now, deep fry all the sticks till they turn golden brown in colour.
- Now, serve these stick with Sauce/Green Chutney & garnish with Coriander Leaves.
- Finally, your Poha Cigar Sticks are ready to be served.
*Makes 20-25 sticks of medium size
