Kashmiri Pink Herbal Tea

What you'll need:

  1. Water - 1 glass
  2. Tea Leaves - 1 tbsp
  3. Baking Soda - ¼ tsp
  4. Ice Cubes - 4 to 5
  5. Stra Anise (Chakri Phool/Badiyan) - 1
  6. Cinnamon - 1 inch piece
  7. Cardamom (Green small Elaichi) - 3
  8. Cloves - 3 to 4 pieces
  9. Milk - 1 cup
  10. Powdered Sugar - 1 tbsp or as per taste
  11. Salt - ¼ tsp
  12. Fennel Seed Powder (Saunf Powder) - ½ tsp (Optional) (Tip: In case you do not have Fennel Seed Powder (Saunf Powder), you can take Fennel Seeds (normal Saunf))

 For Garnishing - 

  1. Rose Petals
  2. Chopped Almonds - ½ tsp
  3. Chopped Pistachios - ½ tsp
  4. Kesar Strands - 4 to 5

How to make?

  • Firstly, take water in a pan, add 2 ice cubes, Tea Leaves, Baking Soda & Salt & mix properly. Now, let it boil on low to medium flame till it turns pink.
  • Then, again add 2 ice cubes & all the remaining spices mentioned above except Milk & Sugar. Keep stirring continuously. Let it boil again till it is reduced to half.
  • Meanwhile, in another pan, let the Milk boil.
  • Now, filter the Tea mixture & add the filtered mixture to the boiling Milk.
  • At this stage, add Sugar into your Tea, keep stirring & boil for 2-3 minutes till pink colour comes out.
  • Then, transfer your Tea into serving cups & garnish it with Almonds, Pistachios, Kesar Strands & Rose Petals.
  • Finally, your Kashmiri Pink Herbal Tea is ready to served.
Tip: For the Tea to turn pinkish, take more Milk & less prepared Tea mixture.
