No Bread Sandwich

This recipe is comparatively a healthy alternative to Bread Sandwiches. This will surely be loved by all Sandwich lovers out there. And the best part about this recipe is that it tastes exactly like a Bread Sandwich. No one will be able to make out that this is a No Bread Sandwich 😉

What you'll need:

  1. Boiled Potatoes - 4
  2. Semolina (Suji/Rawa) - 1 cup
  3. Red Chilly Flakes - 1 tsp
  4. Pizza Seasoning/Mixed Herbs - 1 tsp (Tip: If these both are not available, you can use any Masala of choice for taste. For e.g. Pav Bhaji Masala/Chaat Masala/Maggi Masala)
  5. Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
  6. Baking Powder - 1 tsp
  7. Schezwan Sauce/Tomato Ketchup/Green Chutney - 2 tbsp
  8. Wheat Flour/Rice Flour/All Purpose Flour - 2 tbsp
  9. Cheese Slices
  10. Salt - As per taste
  11. Oil for Frying

How to make?

  • Firstly, make a soft dough with the help of all the above mentioned ingredients except Oil, Schezwan Sauce/Tomato Ketchup/Green Chutney & Cheese Slices & just add 1 tsp of Oil & make it smooth with hand. Let it rest for 5 minutes.
  • Now, after 5 minutes divide the dough in 6 equal portions.
  • Now, take a Rolling Pin & Board (Chakla-Belan), sprinkle some flour all over it & keep 1 portion of the dough on the board & give it elongated oval shape with the help of rolling pin. Then, cut it in long rectangular shape with the help of knife/cutter.
  • Now, cut it at the centre to get the exact shape & size of slice bread. 


  • Now, apply Schezwan Sauce on 1 part & keep 1 Cheese Slice over it & keep another part over it as shown in the picture above & seal it completely by applying little pressure on  all 4 sides (If it is not sealed properly then after cooking Cheese may melt & come out).
  • Now, heat Tava, put little oil on it & shallow fry the sandwich on low to medium flame for 30 to 50 seconds till it is golden brown then turn & cook another side. Alternatively, you can bake this in a preheated oven/microwave at 180° for 12-15 minutes.
  • Finally, your No Bread Sandwich is ready to be served hot.
Tip: You can use grated Paneer also instead of Cheese Slice.
