What you'll need:- Milk - 1 kg
- Soaked Tukda Rice - ½ cup (Soaked for 1½-2 hours)
- Sugar - ½ cup
- Green Cardamom Powder - ½ tsp
- Saffron (Kesar) dissolved in milk - 7 to 8 threads
For Garnishing -- Pistachios - 1 tbsp
- Almond Flakes - 1 tsp
- Dried Rose Petals 1 tsp
- Saffron Strands (Kesar threads) - 7 to 8
How to make?- Firstly, boil the Milk on low flame in a heavy bottom pan & reduce it to half.
- Now, add Sugar & Saffron to the Milk & keep stirring continuously.
- Now, coarsely grind the Rice in a mixer without water then add this Rice to the above milk mixture & cook while stirring continuously till the mixture is thick. (Tip: Keep on stirring continuously after adding Rice to Milk to avoid lump formation & sticking of Rice to the bottom of the pan).
- Now, turn off the flame & transfer the mixture into bowls of your choice & garnish with above mentioned ingredients for garnishing.
- Then, let it chill in fridge for 1-2 hours. (Tip: If you want your Phirni to be in thick solid form then let it set in freezer for 2-3 hours)
- Finally, you can offer your Kesar Pista Phirni to Mata Rani.
