Orange Juice Modak (Ganpati Special)
What you'll need: For Outer Layer:- Finely chopped roasted Walnuts, Cashew Nuts (Kaju) & Almonds (Badam) - 1 tbsp
- Finely chopped roasted Pistachios (Pista) - 1 tbsp
- Powdered Sugar - 1 tbsp
- Roasted Mawa - 1 tsp
How to make? - Firstly, in a pan, make sugar syrup by adding Sugar & Orange Juice (on medium flame) of 1 thread consistency or cook till the mixture becomes sticky.
- Now, add Kaju Powder & stir continuously for a minute.
- Now, lower the flame. Add Mawa & Orange Zest & stir continuously till the mixture becomes dry.
- Now, turn off the flame & add Orange Colour & stir continuously till the mixture cools off completely. At this stage, your outer layer for Modak is ready.
- Now, prepare the stuffing by mixing all the stuffing ingredients properly using your hands.
- Now, grease the Modak mould with oil/butter.
- Now, insert a small portion of outer layer mixture into the Modak mould, leaving some space in between for the stuffing. Add the stuffing in between. Again, put a small portion of outer layer mixture over the stuffing so that the stuffing doesn't come out.
- Now, take out your Modak from the mould & similarly, prepare all other Modaks.
- Your Modak is ready for offering to Lord Ganesha 😉
Tip: Make sure your outer layer mixture dries completely before you start to make Modak, otherwise it will stick to the Modak mould.
