Kesar Coated Mawa Modak (Ganpati Special)
What you'll need:- Milk - 1 cup
- Mawa - 50 to 60 grams (For Homemade Mawa in 3 minutes recipe, click here - https://tastytreatsbyvarsha.blogspot.com/2020/06/homemade-mawakhoya-in-3-minutes.html )
- Sugar - ½ cup
- Desiccated Coconut - 1 cup (Optional)
For Coating -- Milk - 2 tbsp
- Kesar - 8 to 10 strands (Tip: If you don't have Kesar, you can use less than a drop of Kesar Yellow Food Colour too)
How to make?- Firstly, in a pan, cook Milk, Sugar & Mawa (on medium flame) for 10 minutes or till the mixture thickens.
- Now, add 1 tbsp desiccated coconut, mix properly and cool at room temperature for 1 hour.
- Now, prepare coating with the help of above coating ingredients by heating on slow to medium flame till it is reduced to half or thickens.
- Now, make balls of equal size from the above mixture.
- Now, take 1 ball and make Modak using Modak moulds. Similarly, prepare other Modaks too.
- Let the Modak dry properly. Finally, coat all the Modaks with Kesar coating using a toothpick or a fine brush as shown in the picture. (Tip: Coat the Modaks after letting them completely dry otherwise your coating will spread)
- Your Modaks are ready to be offered to your Bappa.
Shelf Life - 2 to 3 days at room temperature or 7 to 8 days in fridge
*Makes 8-10 pieces of normal size
